Financial Controller (40 hours)

As Finance Controller, you will work in a team of six. You will work together with the financial departments and additionally, you have a coaching and managing role towards junior colleagues. In this position, you will report to the Finance Director.

Together with the Head of Accounting, the Financial Controller is responsible for the establishment and structure of bookkeeping and the internal cost settlements. It is important that the Financial Controller ensures that the design of the general ledger is in line with the financial informational needs of the business. You are responsible for a complete and correct financial reporting in accordance with the relevant legislation and make an important contribution to internal and external audits. You are responsible for the development of internal reports which gives insights into the capital positions and profitability of the products and/or departments. There will also be a focus on the improvement of external reports and financial ratios and key figures that provides insights into the profitability, liquidity, and solvency of the organisation.

You offer support in the development of financial goals, including budget and planning rounds and, if necessary, for new entities under the EQOM umbrella. You are also responsible for safeguarding company policy and issues related to AO/IC and process optimalisation.

In this role you combine providing structure with moving along in entrepreneurship. Always pushing the brakes with limiting thoughts does not help, but it will help to be conscious by positively but critically challenging the financial department from a financial perspective. In addition, you are capable to concretize plans, set up dashboards and monitor progress. You are close to the business and can quickly make an impact through short lines of communication and fast decision-making. Through a close collaboration with the financial department, you know what is going on and you are able to complete each other in new initiatives. You complement by making plans concrete, taking a process-based approach, involving stakeholders where necessary and thus monitoring progress.

  • Preparing profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and cashflow forecasts;
  • Supervising financial transactions;
  • Streamlining financial processes;
  • Evaluating and controlling risks;
  • Preparing the annual audit;
  • Preparing the budgeting cycle.
